Dania Denise Fan Art

There's a very talented portrait artist named Clothilde d'Adamo...I was pleasantly surprised to receive an email from him, explaining that he loved my photos and wanted to do a free portrait of me. So I gave him a photo and here is the final result:

I loovvvee your blog and that drawing is so amazing! I had a couple questions and didn't know where to post them, so I thought I should just post them here. I'm 16 years old, 5 foot 6 and 3/4 and my measurements are 34-25-36. Basically, here's a list of everything that may stop me from being a model: my face isn't very symmetric, like one of my eyes has a more asiany look to it while the other has folds and looks more like a non-Asian eye, and I also have acne scars, it's not that bad ( like if I wear make up you can't even tell, but, if I have to go to a casting call without make-up... well... it's not going to look that good. I also have stretch marks on my hips that kinda wrap around to my butt too, but I read your post on that and it made me feel sooo much better! But here's the one thing that really freaks me out: my stomach! I have this belly fat (it like starts from my belly button and curves down to my upper hip kind of belly fat) and it's so embarrassing! I couldn't even imagine what it'd be like if I had to show my stomach! But, I read that Dita Von Teese (my favorite fashion icon) hired girls who have "curves" and axed anyone too skinny. But to the point, is it necessary for a flat stomach in the modelling world? And if it is important, what types of exercise and diet should I try to implement into my life?

Diana, Should I contact the agency first or put my composite on a envelope and send to them without communicating? -- Other thing, Do I send my composite card just by itself or should I write a letter with "blah blah blah's" on it? Not really necessary, right?
--Imma send my composite and snapshots together. If I send a letter together, what should I write?

Male Models & Height

(This particular post is in reference to male models seeking to do fashion and runway modeling only, not commercial/print.) So I realize that many of my posts are directed at female models because, well, there are so many of them out there! But I do acknowledge and recognize the male models out there, too, and believe me I do my best to try and squeeze in posts that relate to you guys as well. How Old is Too Old to Model?

It’s no secret that the media has made a big deal out of youth. Think about it: how many people have you heard say, “Gosh, I can’t wait to get wrinkles!” Worldwide, selling the idea of youth has made many companies billions of dollars. Without the models, however, they wouldn’t get very far. So that’s the obvious stuff but what about the question of age and being older in the modeling industry? Well, for starters, if you plan on being in the fashion and runway field, the younger you are the better. The longevity for this type of modeling is extremely short for the majority of models involved. Agencies sign girls as young as 13 years old and tend to hesitate if a model is over 18. This topic, like the height issue, is a reality of the industry that you don’t have to agree with but you will have to accept or at least get used to.
