Though I am currently not in shape due to swimming season being out, I think I have the right body type. Except that I read to be a runway model you have to have a C cup and under, never bigger. Hi, Anonymous! For runway it is better to have a smaller chest. This is because of the sample sizing used by designers, which is typically very small. Having an A or B cup is ideal. While there are some runway models with larger busts, the norm is for female models to have a flat or very small chest. As to whether this would completely prevent you from doing this type of modeling, that will be determined by the agencies you submit yourself to so you should still submit your pictures and attend castings in order to get their professional opinion on the subject. Of course the Victoria's Secret models are known for being larger in the bust area but you would obviously have to wait until you are 18 to pursue that.

As far as your face, many runway models are chosen specifically because they possess odd, exotic, alien or unique features so your nose and jawline could actually work in your favor. There are a score of runway models that are not considered attractive by conventional means, but it is because of that very thing that those models become sought after.

Hi, Dania! I've got a question- Normally, I have 35 inch hips, which I know is pushing it for modeling, but still works. However, my thighs, in proportion to the rest of my body, are just a bit thicker. They don't touch each other or anything, but I definitely feel like if I excersised more I could slim them down a bit. However, I'm reluctant to try certain types of excercise because I don't want my legs to get buff and bigger than they already are. Are there any types of excersise that slim legs down, especially thighs? Thanks so much!

So I realize that many of my posts are directed at female models because, well, there are so many of them out there! Modeling and Weight

One of the first things I hear potential models ask is what the weight requirement for modeling is. Sometimes that is the main issue they worry about when it comes to pursuing modeling. Let me tell you right now that weight should NOT be one of those concerns. Obviously, the height requirement reigns supreme when measuring up to the modeling standards sought out by agencies. If you meet the height requirements--whether it's for fashion and runway or commercial/print--that is the first step towards starting on the path to modeling. How much you weigh shouldn't be your biggest fear. It is rare that anyone can look at someone and say, "Oh, my gosh, he/she looks like they are 5 pounds over our weight requirement!" It just isn't realistic. If you look at many modeling agency websites, they clearly list the age and height requirements--rarely, if at all do they list any weight restrictions.
