Hi, CourtneyVR! Unfortunately, you don't meet the height requirement to be a VS model. At your age, you're more than likely done growing and the minimum height to be signed to Elite and Ford in New York to have a shot at being considered for VS is 5'9", which is actually one inch taller than the standard 5'8" minimum for fashion modeling. Odds are you won't jump an additional 2-3 inches by the time you're 18. :-(

Instead of trying to pursue VS modeling, I would recommend that you look into agencies in your area that represent commercial/print models. This is the type of modeling your height makes you eligible to do. It won't put you on the runway during Fashion Week but it will get you into catalogs, magazine advertisements, billboards and other print publications. So try your hand at getting signed to an agency for commercial/print and see what happens!

(This particular post is in reference to male models seeking to do fashion and runway modeling only, not commercial/print.) So I realize that many of my posts are directed at female models because, well, there are so many of them out there! But I do acknowledge and recognize the male models out there, too, and believe me I do my best to try and squeeze in posts that relate to you guys as well. Modeling and Weight

One of the first things I hear potential models ask is what the weight requirement for modeling is. Sometimes that is the main issue they worry about when it comes to pursuing modeling. Let me tell you right now that weight should NOT be one of those concerns. Obviously, the height requirement reigns supreme when measuring up to the modeling standards sought out by agencies. If you meet the height requirements--whether it's for fashion and runway or commercial/print--that is the first step towards starting on the path to modeling.
